The Little Mermaid, the famous fairy tale about a little mermaid who falls in love with a handsome prince is getting a sequel! Disney will release the sequel The Little Mermaid in 2023.

Who plays the Little Mermaid?

The mermaid Ariel with her beautiful mermaid tail is played this time by Halle Bailey . The sea witch Ursula is played by Melissa McCarthy and King Triton by Javier Bardem.

The new film about the Little Mermaid is a remake of the 1989 film. Once again the Little Mermaid falls in love with Prince Eric with her beautiful voice. We also see her best friend Flounder in the new film, although he has now become a real teenager.

The Little Mermaid facts:

• In the new film, Ariel has red pigtails.

• Ariel’s six sisters have different names in this film: Mala, Karina, India, Caspia, Perla and Tameka. Instead of their names all starting with A, all their names end with A, with the exception of Ariel.
